Shogun
#post173
I have just got a Shogun that I hope to set up shortly. The manual lists the bands as......
Band A: 28.0000 - 28.4900
Band B: 28.5000 - 28.9999
Band C: 29.0000 - 29.4999
Band D: 29.5000 - 26.6999

I'm puzzled by the other bands that have appeared without being mentioned in the manual

Band E: 26.0000 - 26.4900
Band F: 26.5000 - 26.9900
Band G: 27.0000 - 27.4900
Band H: 27.5000 - 27.9900
Band I: 30.0000 - 30.1900

There is also another band

C: 26.9650 - 27.4050

I'm getting a little confused by all this (not difficult for me). When I get my new mike I can check the swr of the antenna which is a Little Wil sat on top of a metal filing cabinet.

The Shogun is intended as a mobile rig (hence the antenna) but I've just jury rigged it to see what I can pick up on listening. Unfortunately that is nowt.

What band/frequency am I best listening on? I have had CB's before but they were nowhere as sophisticated as they are today. I travelled all round Oz with my Landy and a Tram XL5 and regularly pulled in the eastern states and the Phillipines.

Add to this mix the options for USB/LSB/AM/FM/CW and I'm struggling a little. I'm a "hands on guy" I like to be shown and struggle with written instructions but I wouls appreciate any tips.
Oh bollox!
